Finding creative that already works before you make your own

Everything running profitably in your vertical is public. Most advertisers never look.

The research is already done for you

The Meta Ad Library shows what every advertiser is currently running. Tools like Foreplay and GetHooked add organisation on top — saving, tagging and tracking how long a creative has been live.

Longevity is the signal that matters. An ad running for months is running because it works; nobody funds a losing creative that long. Recency tells you what is being tested. Longevity tells you what survived.

A process that produces campaigns, not screenshots

Pick the niche narrowly. Identify brands already advertising in it. Review their creative formats, hooks, offers, funnels and landing pages as a set rather than individually — the pattern is more useful than any single ad.

Save what recurs into a structured swipe file. Download public creatives where supported. Then give the research and the URLs to an AI assistant and ask it to develop a campaign plan from the patterns, rather than from any one example.

Build the resulting campaign through the API or CLI. This is where research stops being a folder of screenshots and becomes something that launched.

What the patterns usually show

Recognisable human faces and user-generated content tend to matter more than production value. Collaborative influencer posts can often be reused directly as ads.

Simple text-heavy video works more often than it should. Advertorials and educational video are frequently stronger than direct-response quiz funnels in categories where the buyer needs to understand something before they want it.

In telehealth specifically, intake quizzes before a treatment recommendation are close to standard — worth knowing before you invent a funnel that fights the category's convention.

The angle most people miss

The strongest launch angle is often not a better ad in a crowded market. It is attaching an offer to an audience that already trusts you.

A worked example: rather than competing broadly in weight loss, attach a women's hormone-replacement offer to an existing community of holistic health educators. Same offer, different distribution, radically different economics — because trust and reach already exist.

Common questions

How do I find competitors' Facebook ads?
The Meta Ad Library shows all ads currently running for any advertiser. Tools such as Foreplay and GetHooked add saving, tagging and longevity tracking on top.
What makes a competitor's ad worth copying?
How long it has been running. Longevity indicates it is profitable, because advertisers do not fund losing creative for months. Study the recurring pattern across several long-running ads rather than replicating one.
What creative works in telehealth?
User-generated content and recognisable faces, simple text-heavy video, and advertorial or educational formats. Intake quizzes before treatment recommendations are close to a category convention.
